1. Youtube Audio Library

Youtube provides a lot of tools to help creators get more content on their platform. In the process they created something called the Youtube Audio Library. It's a collection of free music for download. You can search by genre, mood, instrument, and more.

2. Music For Makers

MusicForMakers.com take a different approach than Youtube. Rather than having you search for songs you give them your email address and they'll send one royalty free song to your inbox every Monday. If you're in a hurry to get an assortment of songs to choose from you can pay just $7 per month.

3. What Funk

WhatFunk.com provides an array of categories of music to choose from. Once you sort by category you can preview each song which they host on SoundCloud. Once you've found one you like click the download link and you're off and running.

4. Free Music Archive

FreeMusicArchive.org has a wide variety of music to choose from. Not only can you search by common criteria like title, artist, and song but also by mood, duration, and tempo. Each song can be played directly from the website and there's a convenient download icon to the right of each title when you're ready to download the MP3.

5. Vimeo Music Store

Just like Youtube , Vimeo has a collection of creative commons licensed audio tracks you can use for your video or website. Vimeo does off music for purchase along with free downloads. To see only the free downloads click on Music Search and choose 'free' from the price range field.
