Why Your Youtube Videos Don't Receive Views

Hopefully by now you're creating a lot of videos for your website to get traffic. As I've discussed in previous blogs Youtube is a such a great place to find new sources of traffic because it's now the world's third most popular website and yet there's much less competition over keywords than Google. Maybe you've done this but haven't received a lot of views. If you're not getting the views you're looking for it could be due to the lack of comments on your videos.

Getting comments on your videos is a signal that your content is legit. In a world of webspam Google is looking for the slightest indication your content is real. Comments it turns out are a great way for Google to leverage real life people to filter out webspam from the real deal. Articles, videos, and other content that's accompanied by genuine conversation are more likely to rank well on Google.

So what can you do to get more comments? To get more comments be sure to ask your viewers to leave questions and feedback and then engage in conversation. When people know they're being heard they're more likely to participate in the conversation. Furthermore nobody wants to be the first one to start a conversation. Give the conversation a little nudge by posting something yourself.

Another thing you can do is share your articles and videos on Facebook and Twitter. Again, here it's critical to engage your audience and let them know it's an open forum for participation.
