Why You Need to Gather Customer Feedback

Customer feedback is often the only way to know how you are doing as a business. You can guess beforehand but until real people are using your product, website, or service, you're not going to know for sure. With customer feedback, you'll know how to change your products and services, be able to introduce new products, services, or features, and you can use good feedback as testimonials on your website. Here are 3 important things to remember about customer feedback_

1. Use Feedback to Make a Perfect Product

When a customer leaves feedback, don't ignore it. You're thinking "of course I shouldn't ignore it", but that's often what we do. We assume that the person who leaves negative feedback isn't a loyal customer or they are some sort of bad customer and that they are the exception. That is usually not the case. If a customer takes the time to leave feedback on your site, they care enough about your product or service to have something to say about it. That makes them a pretty valuable customer.

2. Make it Easy to Leave Feedback

You've seen the companies that badger you into leaving feedback. Pop up windows or splash pages that try to force you into leaving feedback that you may or may not have. You'll get much more useful feedback if you have a non intrusive feedback box or message that allows your customers to choose to leave feedback. Some companies offer incentives for leaving feedback. This is ok but in my opinion, your feedback will be less than honest if the customer has a reason other than to leave feedback.

3. Use Good Feedback in Your Marketing

Free marketing is always great. That's just another reason why getting feedback is so valuable. Sure, your negative feedback won't be used on your front page but when you do get positive feedback, you'd better use that to your advantage. Make sure to let the customers know you wish to use their testimonial in your marketing and thank them for their feedback.

So start getting feedback today. If you're not intrusive about how you collect it, then your customers will appreciate the opportunity to send in their suggestions. You can use that feedback to change your existing products features. You can use feedback to introduce new products and services. You can even use feedback as customer testimonials on your site. As you can see, it is very valuable when done properly and customers will appreciate the opportunity. To find more helpful tips and to make a free website, visit http://webstarts.com/.
