Take Control Of Your Business And Your LIfe

Over the years I've talked to hundreds if not thousands of  people about their website. Most of these people are small business owners or budding entrepreneurs who know the future of business is on the web. I can say from these experience that even to this day most people believe a website is something you hire someone to build for your business. Every time I hear that I'm reminded of why so many people fail in business. Most people fail in business not because they're incapable or even don't have enough money. They fail because they don't believe in themselves.

So many business owners and would be business owners spend their time trying to hunt down that magical person or thing that's going to propel their business to the next level. I suppose this is human nature. Certainly that mentality isn't limited to the business world. Nevertheless in life there are "NO MAGIC BULLETS". I know that's going to be hard for some people to accept but it's the truth. Thinking you're going to find someone or something that's going to be the "THE KEY" to success is like chasing a mirage in the desert. You'll think you're moving in the right direction forever but in reality you're spending time and effort trying to obtain something that doesn't exist.

So then, what is the truth? The truth is, achieving your goals whether they be personal or business is going to be hard. So as long as you understand "hard" means it will require an immense amount of determination and sacrifice. We've all heard the stories about successful people who had so many failures along the way -- but just kept plucking away and then one day experienced success. Although those stories can be inspirational they're not a good representation of reality. They make you think you can just keep working at it and all of the sudden, one day, out of the blue you're going to be successful. Achieving your goals is going to take more than that. You're going to have to out-work, out-think, out-hustle your competitors. You're going to lose sleep, you're going to miss out on some of the things your friends and family get to enjoy, you're going to have to face your fears and overcome them.

Earlier I mentioned there are no "magic bullets" and it doesn't come down to a "key" to be successful. Your success will be painstakingly built on a foundation of failures. Each wrong decision you make will be a clue to which is the right one. Each wrong direction you take will lead you closer to the right one. You have to stay diligent, you have to stay focused. You have to say to yourself "If I can't do something -- than I must do it." If you say to yourself "I can't stand in front of an audience and pitch my product"  - then you must. If you say "I can't build my own website" - then you must.

I know the world is full of people who say there's a better way, a faster way, an cheaper way, an easier way. Chances are they're trying to sell you something. If you want to be truly successful you need to dig down deep and be the fire in your own engine. You have to take all the pain and misery that comes with being a disappointment, a reject, a nothing, a nobody and turn that into high octane fuel to power you through the moments when your back is against the wall and there's no way out. Use those painful experiences and feelings not to feel sorry for yourself but to pump yourself up and power through.
