One of the most difficult thing about getting a business started is knowing where to start. Some people think you have to get incorporated, do the research on all the appropriate business licenses, get an office, and setup all kinds of insurance policies. Don't be mislead. The first thing you need to do to start a business is not get your paperwork in order. The first thing you need to do is get a customer.
You can have a pretty store front, incorporation, a marketing plan, and whatever else. But without a customer y0u're not in business. I'm sure some will argue you need a business license, a phone number, a website or whatever. All those things can help it's true but you don't NEED any of them to attract that first customer. No doubt winning customers and selling is the hardest part of business and no doubt having a phone number and website will help but they shouldn't be the focus when you're just starting.
