One of the most frequently requested things we get at WebStarts is the ability to add more fonts. Up until now there have been some technical limitations which prevented us from offering a wider variety of fonts. The fonts we've offered to date have all been "web compatible". That means all web browsers natively support those fonts and they will be displayed in the same fashion in most browsers. This provides a consistent experience for people when they visit your website regardless of which browser they're using or which computer they own.

If we were to make "non-web compatible" fonts available they may have looked okay on your computer but your site visitors would complain the page didn't appear the same on their end since they would have to have the same fonts installed as you do on your computer. We were able to overcome this problem using Google Fonts API. Google Fonts allows us to offer new font styles which are accessed from Google's servers rather than from your local computer.

To date no other website builder has been able to offer fonts in this manner. Some offer more fonts styles but strictly as flash or images. Flash and images cannot be read by search engines and therefore do not help your search engine ranking. Therefore those are really not good solutions for the serious website.

You can access the new fonts in the page editor view. Simply add some text to your page or select some existing text and choose to apply the style from the drop down menu. At the bottom of the drop down menu you'll notice a link that says "Add Fonts". You can click on that link to add or remove fonts from your editor.
