Search engines can only read text so when they encounter an image they don't typically know what the image is about. Search engines do however read ALT tags. These are keyword tags you can associate with your images to help search engines understand what they're all about. The more a search engine knows about your images the better job it can do of ranking your webpages for relevant keywords. ALT tags are also a great way to get found on image search engines like Google Images and Bing Images.

Here's how to use the ALT tag tool in WebStarts.

Step 1_

From your dashboard choose the page you would like to add the images with ALT tags to.

Step 2_

Add your images to your pages.

Step 3_

Click on each image to select it and then click on the tag icon.

Step 4_

Enter the keyword that best describes the image and click "OK'.
