In this article I will tell you how to resize your photos using a web application called picresize. Resizing your photos is important when it comes to web design because large file sizes, such as those created by DSLR camera's and mobile phones will slow the loading of your webpages unless they're resized before being uploaded.
1. Go to Picresize.com and upload your photo.
To resize your photos the first thing you'll need to do is go to picresize.com. Be sure the option to upload a photo from your local computer is checked and then click the "Browse" button and choose to upload a file from your local computer. A preview of your photos is displayed. Click continue and you'll see some options.
2. Choose your resize options.
Picrsize provides you with a number of options along with the resizing of your images. For example you can rotate, crop, or even apply special effects. Notice on the right hand side you can choose from a number of resolution options as well. If you're putting a photo onto a website I recommend you make it no more than 640 pixels wide. Notice at the bottom of the page you can also select the file type for your photo. Choose JPG for the most compatible format. Once you've selected all your options click continue and your photo is processed.
3. Download your resized photo.
Now that you've successfully resized your photo you can either download it, continue editing it, or view it. Picresize will automatically delete your file after 20 minutes so be sure to download the resized image before the time expires. With the resized image you should now easily be able to upload the photo to a website and have it look great without causing a page to load slowly.
