How To IFTTT

IFTTT.com is a great tool that helps you automate redundant tasks with your favorite apps from across the web. For example if that can send you an email containing your instagram photo when you post it from your phone. IFTTT let's users create what they call "recipes". You can choose to use an existing recipe or create a new one from scratch.

In order to get started you must first authorize one of the many apps (IFTT calls these channels) you're already using. This simply requires you to provide your username and login. Once you're done you'll be able to combine two or more of your app services to produce your desired automation.

There are literally thousands of recipes to automate just about every task you can imagine. IFTTT has an easy to use interface for what would otherwise be a very complex application. You can save the recipes you create and choose whether to enable or disable them for future use.

Here's a list of some of the apps that already work with IFTTT.

Youtube, Box, Instagram, Evernote, Campfire, Email, Gmail, Facebook, Delicious, Twitter, Etsy, Craigslist, Foursquare, Flickr, Google Talk, Hootsuite, Google Calendar, Google Drive, LinkedIn, Soundcloud, Weather, Storify, WeMo Motion, WeMo Switch, SMS, Skydrive, and many more.
