Backlinks are the bread and butter of getting better search engine ranking on Google. When you create a new website it doesn't have any other websites linking to it and for that reason Google doesn't know it exists and will not include it their rankings. There is a way around this, I'll share with you in a minute but first let me tell you five easy ways to get your first backlinks.

1. Facebook page.

Ah -- of course we're all familiar with the world's most popular social network and guess what? They let you build a page for your business and on that page you can include a link to your website. Checkout out my video on how to setup a Facebook page for business here.

2. Twitter account.

Once again a super popular communication tool on the web. Setting up a Twitter account for your business is simple and it too let's you include a link to your website.

3. Youtube channel.

This is one of my favorite ways to get traffic altogether and you may even be watching one of my Youtube videos right now. Not only is Youtube the world's third most visited website but it's also a great place to get links back to your website.

4. Google Plus

What better place to get a link but from directly from Google. That's what you can do with a business page from Google Plus.

5. A second WebStarts website. 

Another great way to get a backlink to your first website is simply to build a second website with WebStarts. Make the account link to each other targeting two separate keywords and you should get a little link juice for each. If you followed the steps above you should get crawled by Google pretty quickly.
