Search engines love new content. When a search engine shows newer content amongst it's search results it's tells the searcher the results are more relevant. I'm sure we've all had times when we performed a search and found an outdated article. The major search engines like Google know this and strive to quickly find and index new information. So one of the keys to getting great search engine ranking is to continually feed the search engines new and relevant content. Here's a few ways you can keep a steady stream of new content coming from your website.
1. Start a blog
A blog can just be couple of paragraphs telling your site visitors a little bit about your industry, trade, or product every day. I recommend you update your blog at least three times a week.
2. Keep your pages updated
Constantly be adding new and relevant information to the pages of your website. If you have an events page or about us go ahead and tweak it or add to it from time to time.
3. Leave a date trail
Whenever you make a change to something see if you can sneak tag line at the beginning or end of your content that includes the date you updated it. That way when the search engine comes to your site and displays your results users will see the recent date in the search result and be more likely to click on it.
With a little bit of effort each day you're sure to gradually drive more traffic to your website deploying these few simple strategies.
