I know a lot of WebStarts users build their websites for a good cause. At WebStarts we frequently get support requests from groups and organizations asking how to add a PayPal donation button to their website. In this article I'll walk you through the steps to putting a PayPal donation button on your website.

Step 1.

Create and sign into your PayPal account.

Step 2.

Click on the merchant services tab.

Step 3.

Click on the button labeled "Create a payment button for your website".

Step 4.

Choose the option to create a "Donate" button.

Step 5.

Choose the style of your button.

Step 6.

Set your advanced options like giving your customers special instructions or asking for their shipping address after the transaction is complete.

Step 7.

Create the button and generate the HTML code.

Step 8.

Copy and paste the HTML code onto your WebStarts web page by going to the page editor click Inserts> HTML Code. Paste in the filed provided and click ok.

Step 9.

Drag and drop your PayPal button where you'd like it to appear on your web page and click save. Your changes will be saved and published to your website right away and people will not be able to place their donations directly from your website.
