In this article I will share with you how to add a Facebook follow button to your website. Adding a Facebook follow button will make it easy for the people who visit your website to Follow your Facebook page. When people follow your page on Facebook your posts will be more likely to show up in your feed.
To get started you'll need to login to your WebStarts account and go to the page editor. You can do this by entering your username and password, logging in, and clicking the Edit Site button from the dashboad view.
You'll also need to go to https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/follow-button. Once your own that page you'll want to follow these steps to configure your follow button.
Step 1.
Modify the Facebook URL to reflect your Facebook Page. You'll want to enter the URL to your Facebook page in the field labeled Profile URL. You can find your Facebook Page url by going to your Facebook page and paying attention to what's displayed in the address bar.
Step 2.
Enter the height and width you want the container for the follow button to be. I suggest something like 200px by 200px. Just enough for you to easily drag and drop things where they should appear.
Step 3.
Choose how you would like your button to be displayed. You can choose the from several different button formats. You can also choose whether you'd like a large or small button.
Step 4.
Now that your button is configured, click Get Code. The HTML snippet you'll need to copy and paste into the code of your web page is displayed. Notice the code is in two separate snippets. Each of these will need to be copied and pasted for the follow button to work.
Step 5.
With your code copied to your clipboard click on Insert> HTML in the page editor. Paste both of the code snippets into the field, one on top of the other. When both code snippets have been pasted click Ok and the Facebook follow button will be displayed in the editor. You will then be able to drag and drop the follow button where you'd like it to be displayed.
As always, be sure to click the save icon to save and publish the changes you made to your website. You can view what those changes look like on your published site by clicking the View Site button. Now go out and share your website with the world and get them to follow you on Facebook.
