8 WebStarts Features That Help You Design Better Websites

1. Layers

A lot of website builders limit you to working within tables. That means you can align your content left, center, or right. With WebStarts everything on your page can be absolutely positioned where you'd like it to appear and stacked on top of each other. You can adjust your layers by selecting an object and then clicking on the four layer options. 2. Padding

Padding is the the distance between content and the border of the object. You can most commonly find padding controls on text boxes. If you don't like your text to be right up against the boundary of a selected text box you can create some extra spacing by adjusting the padding. You can adjust the padding by clicking on an object, clicking the padding icon, and then slide the ruler to the right to increase the padding or left to decrease it.

3. Resize by Value

There are times when you need to size an object by it's exact pixels. For example_ you might need an object to be a certain number of pixel tall and wide. To resize by value click on an object and then click the resize by value icon attached to it. That will allow you to directly type the height and width of the object by pixel.

4. Transparency

A cool feature of WebStarts is the ability to make an object transparent. That means you can make it partially see through. It add a little flare to your website and is very easy to do. Just click on an object and drag the slider to the left to increase it's transparency and to the right to decrease the transparency.

5. Default Font Properties

6. Default Link Properties

Just like the default font properties you can also setup default link properties. Again, just click on the format tab and choose default link properties from the drop down menu.

7. Clear Content
