How To Verify Your Website With Google Webmaster Tools and Sitemaps

Step 2. Once you're logged into your Google Webmaster Tools account click on the "Add a site" button, type your domain name in the field provided and click continue.

Step 3. Choose the option to verify your Google Webmaster Tools account by the HTML method.

Step 4. Copy the random page name generated by Google and displayed in the Google Webmaster Tools account to your clipboard by highlighting it, right clicking, and choosing copy. Be careful to only copy the page name NOT including the file extension.

Step 5. Login to your WebStarts account and create a new page with the random page name generated by Google. You can do this by clicking the new page icon and pasting the random page name from your clipboard in the the page name field. Paste by right clicking in the field and choosing paste from the drop down menu.

Step 6. Save your page and go back to your Webmaster Tools account and click the button labeled verify site.
