At WebStarts our design tools are so easy to use and powerful that many people decide to take domain names they'd previously purchased elsewhere and use them with their WebStarts site. This is easily acomplished by following the steps below.

1. Login to your account and click on the Add Domain Name icon.

When you first login to your account you will find the add domain name icon located on your account dashboard. Click on it and the add domain name dialog box will appear.

2. Choose the option to use an existing domain name with WebStarts.

Once you see the add domain name dialog box be sure to click the radio button next to option number 2. It reads 'I already own a domain name and would like to use it with WebStarts. Enter the domain name you have previously purchased with another company in the field provided and then click the 'Check Availability' button.

Note: You will be required to login to the website where you originally purchased the domain name to complete setup. So try to have that login information handy. You can always call us at WebStarts if you need help finding this information.

3. Upgrade to a WebStarts Pro Account.

If your domain name has NOT been previously registered with WebStarts you should see a message saying 'Congratulations your domain name is available.'  Click continue and you'll be prompted to upgrade to a WebStarts Pro Account. Upgrading to a Pro Account has many features and benefits. You can see a complete list on our pricing page.

4. Change the DNS with the company you originally registered your domain name.

Once you've upgraded to a pro account your domain name will automatically be configured with WebStarts. All you will have to do to make your domain live is update your DNS with the company you originally registered the domain name. DNS settings are usually made availble upon logging into your account and should be changed to ns1.webstarts.com and ns2.webstarts.com.
