A safe bet is to register your domain name for 5 years or more.

2. Add multiple domain names to your website.

One of the biggest things search engines look at to determine your website relevancy is your domain name. If your domain name contains your keyword or keyword phrase you're more likely to get better search engine ranking and increased traffic to your website. You should register domains that contain each of your targeted keywords or keyword phrases and point them back to your website.
