Apple Announces iPhone 5

As expected Apple announced the iPhone 5 today. The new phone will feature support for 4G LTE networks, a larger display, a lighter, thinner design, and more. The new phone will also sport a powerful new Apple designed A6 chip. The new chip performs up to twice as fast as the previous generation. Despite this new, more powerful chip Apple was able to increase the battery life of the iPhone 5 when compared to previous generations.

The iPhone 5 will also include an isight 8mp camera with panorama mode. This allows you to take very wide photos with your iPhone 5 by simply moving your phone side to side.

Apple has decided to forgo the it's 30 pin connector in favor for a it's smaller lightening connector. The connector although not compatible with previous iPhones and iPads is 80 percent smaller than it's predecessor. The new connector is reversible so it doesn't matter which why you try to plug it into your phone.

The iPhone 5 will also come preloaded with iOS6. Apple's newest mobile operating system. iOS6 includes turn by turn navigation. A feature Google's Android operating system has sported for years.

You will be able to place online orders for the iPhone 5 via Apple's website on September 14th with a September 21st ship date. The iPhone 5 will be available for purchase through major US cell carriers beginning September 21st.
