All New WebStarts Editor

Introducing the all new WebStarts page editor. We've revamped our editor to enable you to create modern looking site designs that really pop. Here are just a few of the improvements we've made.

1. Header and footer.

In the past building many pages that look similar with WebStarts required you to make copies of existing pages. This meant if you wanted to make a change on all the pages of your website you'd have to go into each page individually. The process was time consuming and tedious. For that reason we've added a header and footer to every page.

Anything you add to the header or footer is automatically applied to any page where the header and footer is displayed. This allows you to make site wide changes to the top and bottom of your webpages without having to modify each page individually. It's a huge time saver and ensures each of your pages will look similar regardless of the body content.

Of course if you ever want to disable the header and footer you can. Simply click on the view > header or footer and make sure they're unchecked. Once that's done they'll no longer be displayed and you can use the WebStarts editor the way it's always worked.

2. Full Width Elements.

One of the biggest trends in web design has been to use 100% of a screen's width regardless of a computer's resolution. With the all new WebStarts you can now make any photo, video, or box full width and it will dynamically resize to use 100% of a browser's width regardless of screen resolution.

All you need to do to make an element full width is click to select it and then click the attached full width icon. The element will be displayed in full width. To go back, click it again, and it will return to being the width of your page guidelines.

3. Style Management.

In the past when you created a website with WebStarts you applied styles to things like text and photos on an individual basis. This was great until you wanted to change the look of things across your whole website. You'd have to go into each page and apply all your styles, fonts, shadows, etc. to each object. This was another tedious and time consuming process.

With the new WebStarts editor you can apply styles to your page elements. Any element with a style applied to it can be changed from one central location. For instance let's say you want to change your font styles at the top of all the paragraphs on your site. You can now update the that style in one place and it will be applied everywhere that style is used on your site.

4. Color Management.

Just like style management color management allows you to apply different color schemes across your website without having to change the color properties of each element. The new WebStarts editor includes dozens of color palettes containing complementary colors. This takes the guess work out of choosing colors for your color scheme.

5. Video Backgrounds.

In the last year video backgrounds have become a staple of modern web design. The new WebStarts editor allows you to use videos from your computer, Youtube, or Instagram as backgrounds on your site. The net result is a dramatic video loop displayed automatically when someone comes to your site.

These five features only scratch the surface of what's new with WebStarts. And in the upcoming weeks we'll be launching more. So be sure to stay tuned.
